Aric Davis stammt aus Grand Rapids, Michigan und ist Autor von Horror, Jugendbüchern, Mystery und Thrillern. Er ist verheiratet und hat eine Tochter. Bevor er hauptberuflicher Autor wurde, arbeitete Davis mehr als 15 Jahre als Piercer. Seine Leidenschaft fürs Lesen führte letztendlich zu seiner Karriere als Schriftsteller. Obwohl er schon lange davon träumte, ein veröffentlichter Autor zu werden, fehlte ihm aufgrund seines anspruchsvollen Jobs die Zeit, etwas aufzuschreiben. Erst nach Veröffentlichung von "Nickel Plated", dem ersten Roman der "Nickel"-Reihe, wagte er den Schritt in die Vollzeit-Autorentätigkeit.
Neben seiner Autorentätigkeit ist Davis ein Punk-Rock-Fan und sucht stets nach Möglichkeiten, gute Bands zu unterstützen. Er bevorzugt kühles Wetter, das einen Pullover, aber keine Jacke erfordert, und schätzt offene und ehrliche Freunde. Neben Lesen und Schreiben genießt Davis Achterbahnen, Eishockey und Zigarren. Er hat fast ein Dutzend Romane und einige Novellen verfasst, wie beispielsweise "From Ashes Rise: A Novel of Michigan", "Nickel Plated", "A Good and Useful Hurt", "The Black Death: A Dead Man Novella", "Rough Men", "Breaking Point", "The Fort", "Tunnel Vision", "Weavers" und "The Vanderbilt."
