Dan Yaccarino ist ein gefeierter Autor und Illustrator, der für seine zahlreichen Beiträge zur Kinderliteratur und Animation bekannt ist. Er hat über drei Dutzend Kinderbücher geschrieben und illustriert, darunter Zusammenarbeiten mit bekannten Persönlichkeiten wie Margaret Wise Brown, Jack Prelutsky, Kevin Henkes und Patricia MacLachlan. Seine Werke wurden international ausgestellt, und er wurde sogar ins Weiße Haus eingeladen, um seine Bücher vorzustellen und an Osterfestlichkeiten teilzunehmen.
