Dave Wolverton, der auch unter dem Pseudonym David Farland bekannt ist, ist ein sehr erfolgreicher Autor von Science-Fiction und Fantasy. Er wurde 1957 geboren und lebt derzeit mit seiner Frau und fünf Kindern in St. George, Utah. Wolverton ist vor allem für seinen preisgekrönten Roman "On My Way to Paradise" bekannt, der 1995 den Best Novel in the English Language Award der Philip K. Dick Memorial gewann. Er hat mehrere andere Auszeichnungen für sein Schreiben erhalten, darunter den Best Novel of the Year Whitney Award, den Best Young Adult Novel at the Southern California Book Festival, The Hollywood Book Festival Grand Prize und den Young Adult Novel of the Year at the International Book Award.
Neben seinen Erfolgen mit Romanen hat Wolverton auch für seine Kurzgeschichten Anerkennung gefunden, darunter den Best Novlette bei den Nebula Awards. Er hat Geschichte geschrieben, indem er den Guinness World Record für die größte Einzelautor-Einzelbuch-Signierstunde aufstellte.
