Lee Goldberg ist ein hoch angesehener US-amerikanischer Autor, der vor allem für seine Krimi-Fiktion und seine TV-Adaptionen bekannt ist. Goldbergs Weg in die Schriftstellerei begann während seiner College-Zeit an der UCLA, wo er Journalismus studierte. Neben seinem Erfolg im Fernsehen und Romanen ist Goldberg zweifacher Nominierter für den Edgar Award und den Shamus Award. Zusammen mit Janet Evanovich ist er Co-Autor der Fox & O'Hare-Serie, die populäre Titel wie "The Heist", "The Chase", "The Job", "The Scam" und "The Pursuit" umfasst. Seine anderen bemerkenswerten Werke sind "The Walk", "Watch Me Die", "King City" und die "Dead Man"-Serie.
