Robert J. Conley

Robert J. Conley war ein amerikanischer und cherokischer Autor, der am 29. Dezember 1940 in Cushing, Oklahoma, geboren wurde. Er verstarb am 16. Februar 2014 und hinterließ ein Erbe des Romaneschreibens, das seine indigene amerikanische Herkunft erforschte. Bekannt unter seinem vollen Geburtsnamen, Robert Jackson Conley, erhielt er 2007 den Preis für sein Lebenswerk von der Native Writers' Circle of the Americas.

Als cherokischer Autor und eingetragenes Mitglied der Cherokee Nation, einer vom Bund anerkannten Gruppe amerikanischer Ureinwohner, spiegelte Conleys Werk oft seine kulturelle Hintergrund und Erfahrungen wider. Seine Schrift umfasste verschiedene Genres, wie historische Fiktion, Krimi und Western, die alle seine einzigartige Perspektive als indigener amerikanischer Autor zeigten.
