Ruth Ryan Langan ist eine hoch angesehene und einflussreiche US-amerikanische Autorin, die für ihren umfangreichen Katalog von über 100 Romanen bekannt ist. Sie schreibt unter verschiedenen Pseudonymen wie R.C. Ryan, Ruth Ryan Langan und Eve Lang und hat mehrere erfolgreiche Marken erschaffen und ist auch als Bestseller-Autorin etabliert.
Langan ist eine preisgekrönte Autorin von Liebesromanen mit Schwerpunkt auf historischer Liebesromane. Sie hat den Romantic Times Career Achievement Award gewonnen und wurde zweimal für die Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Awards für ihre Bücher Jade und Return of the Prodigal Son nominiert. Viele ihrer Romane spielen in der Mittelalterzeit oder sind Western-Liebesromane, wobei einige zeitgenössische Liebesromane und spannende Elemente eingewoben sind.
Langan begann ihre Schreibkarriere heimlich, aber ihre Familie entdeckte ihr Hobby, als ihre Kinder eines Tages überraschend von der Schule nach Hause kamen und sie beim Schreiben fanden. Ihr Ehemann war unterstützend und kaufte ihr eine elektrische Schreibmaschine, um ihr bei ihrem Schreiben zu helfen. Ihr erstes Buch wurde 1981 von Silhouette Books veröffentlicht, nachdem ein Redakteur es aus ihrem Submission-Stapel herausgepickt hatte, und sie erhielt einen Agenten nach Abschluss ihres ersten Verkaufs.
