Sherryl Clark ist eine produktive Autorin, die ursprünglich aus Neuseeland stammt und inzwischen in Australien lebt. Sie hat über 70 Bücher verfasst, darunter Kinderbücher, Jugendromane, Gedichte und Kriminalromane. Clark's Leidenschaft für Kriminalliteratur begann mit Autoren wie Mickey Spillane, James Ellroy und Raymond Chandler. Obwohl sie ihre Schriftstellerkarriere damit verbrachte, sich auf Kinder- und Jugendbücher zu konzentrieren, verfolgte sie ihre Leidenschaft für Kriminalliteratur weiter und schrieb in diesem Genre für ihre eigene Unterhaltung.
Clarks erstes Kinderbuch, "The Too-Tight Tutu", wurde 1997 veröffentlicht, und seitdem hat sie über 60 Kinder- und Jugendbücher verfasst. Einige ihrer anderen beliebten Titel sind "Bone Song", "Dying to Tell Me", "One Perfect Pirouette" und "Trust Me I'm Dead". Neben ihren Kinderbüchern hat Clark auch ein Bilderbuch mit Gedichten veröffentlicht und andere Titel wie "Pirate X", "Now I Am Bigger" und die "Rose" -Reihe, die Teil der beliebten "Our Australian Girl" -Reihe ist.
Clark ist auch Professorin für kreatives Schreiben an der Victoria University in Melbourne, Australien. Sie hat ihre Bücher in Australien und im Ausland in über 10 Ländern veröffentlicht. Neben dem Schreiben für Kinder und Jugendliche schreibt Clark auch Kriminalromane. Ihr Kriminalroman "Trust Me I'm Dead" wurde für den CWA Debut Dagger nominiert und von Verve Books im Vereinigten Königreich veröffentlicht. Der Roman verfügt über eine schrullige weibliche Hauptfigur, die an ein junges Judi Dench angelehnt ist, und wurde neun Entwürfe durchlaufen. Clark hat auch zwei Gedichtsammlungen veröffentlicht und arbeitet als freiberufliche Lektorin, Manuskriptentwicklungslektorin und Mentorin. Sie unterrichtet auch Menschen darin, ihre eigenen Blogs und Websites zu entwickeln.
