Wayne Kyle Spitzer ist ein US-amerikanischer Autor und Filmemacher von Horrorfilmen mit niedrigem Budget, geboren am 15. Juli 1966 in Spokane, Washington. Seine Schreib- und Filmprojekte lassen sich hauptsächlich den Genres Horror und Science-Fiction zuordnen, wobei sein Regiedebüt der kurze Horrorfilm "Shadows in the Garden" ist. Neben seiner Genrearbeit hat Spitzer auch nicht-genrespezifische Beiträge in subTerrain Magazine: Strong Words for a Polite Nation und Columbia: The Magazine of Northwest History veröffentlicht.
Die schriftstellerische Tätigkeit von Spitzer ist sowohl umfangreich als auch vielfältig. Sein erstes bedeutendes Werk war der SF/Horror-Roman "Flashback" im Jahr 1993. In letzter Zeit hat er The Ferryman Pentalogy abgeschlossen, eine Reihe von fünf miteinander verbundenen Romanen, die aus "Comes a Ferryman", "The Tempter and the Taker", "The Pierced Veil", "Black Hole, White Fountain" und "To the End of Ursathrax" bestehen. Diese Reihe zeugt von Spitzers Fähigkeit, immersive Welten und komplexe Erzählungen zu erschaffen. Des Weiteren hat er The X-Ray Rider Trilogy, eine Reihe von Science-Fiction-Romanen, verfasst und das Werk "The Willows" von Algernon Blackwood in ein Drehbuch adaptiert, was seine Vielseitigkeit als Autor unterstreicht.
