Saul Bellow

Saul Bellow wurde als hoch angesehener Autor in Lachine, Quebec, geboren und in Chicago aufgezogen. Er besuchte die University of Chicago und schloss sein Bachelor-Studium an der Northwestern University im Jahr 1937 mit Auszeichnung in Soziologie und Anthropologie ab. Bells Schriftstellerkarriere begann mit der Veröffentlichung seines ersten Romans, "Dangling Man", im Jahr 1944, gefolgt von "The Victim" im Jahr 1947. Seinen Durchbruch erzielte er mit der Veröffentlichung seines Romans "The Adventures of Augie March" im Jahr 1953, der im Jahr 1954 den National Book Award für Fiktion gewann.
